Slow speeds
Why a VPN can be slower, and what to try — usually a closer location.
Any VPN adds a detour: your traffic goes to our server first, then to the website. Some slowdown is normal, but it shouldn't be dramatic.
Things to try
- Pick a closer location. Distance matters most. If you don't need a particular country, use the one nearest to you. To switch, disconnect your tunnel and create one for the new location.
- Try another location nearby. A server can be busy at times. We place new tunnels on the least busy server in a location, so creating a fresh tunnel can help.
- Test without the VPN. Run a speed test with the tunnel off, then on. If both are slow, the problem is your connection, not the tunnel.
- Use a wired or stronger Wi-Fi connection if you can.
- Restart the tunnel in the WireGuard app (switch it off and on).

I can't connect
A checklist for when the WireGuard tunnel won't connect or connects but nothing loads.
Unused tunnels are released
On the free plan a tunnel stays on as long as you use it. One left unused for 30 days is released, after a warning.
Data limit reached
The free plan includes 10 GB a month. When it's used up, tunnels disconnect until the 1st or until you upgrade.
Device limit reached
Your plan limits how many tunnels can be connected at once. Disconnect one, sign out a device, or upgrade.
