What we log — and what we don't
We don't log your browsing, DNS lookups or connection history. Here's exactly what we keep, and why.
What we never keep
- The websites you visit or the content of your traffic.
- Your DNS lookups.
- Connection history: when you connected, for how long, from which IP address, or which server you used.
- The IP address you sign in from.
When a tunnel is disconnected — by you, for being unused, or because of a plan limit — it's deleted. Its times, data counts, server, address and keys go with it.
What we keep while a tunnel is connected
To run the tunnel and apply your plan's limits: its server and location, its private address inside our network, its keys, the device it belongs to, when it connected, and how much data it has carried. All of it is deleted when the tunnel ends.
What we keep on your account
- Your email address, name (if you added one) and password (stored hashed).
- Your plan and subscription status. Card details stay with Stripe, our payment provider.
- Your signed-in Ghostunnel apps (name, platform, app version, last seen).
- One number for the month: how much data you've used, so the free plan's 10 GB limit works. It starts again each month.
